Morocco face Argentina with knockout place at stake in FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup

Morocco will look to secure their place in the last 16 of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup when they face Argentina in their final Group A match on Friday.

Youness Rabie’s side still control their own fate, with qualification within reach ahead of the meeting at the Complexe Mohammed VI de football in Sale.

Kick-off is scheduled for 20:00 France time and 18:00 in Morocco. In France, the match will be available to watch for free on FIFA+ via DAZN. In Morocco, beIN Sports will also show the game, although viewers must have a subscription.

Morocco are second in Group A with three points, level with Argentina but ahead of them on goal difference.

The Lioncelles de l’Atlas began the tournament with an impressive 4-0 victory over New Zealand. However, their second match brought a 4-2 defeat by Germany.

Morocco fell 4-0 behind before Nessma Mouradi reduced the deficit with two late goals. She scored in the 64th minute and again in the fifth minute of added time from the penalty spot.

A win or a draw against Argentina will be enough to take Morocco through to the last 16. Argentina, who are competing in the tournament for the first time, must be beaten if Morocco are to finish the group stage in the strongest possible position.

Morocco therefore have the benefit of greater experience at this level, but that advantage must be reflected on the pitch against the Albiceleste.
