Nigeria winger Mohammed Garba has joined Slovakian club AS Trencin from Nasarawa United, completing a move that takes the 19-year-old into the Nike Liga.
Garba, who plays on the left wing and favours his right foot, leaves Nasarawa United after making 42 appearances in the Nigerian Professional Football League. He scored five goals and provided one assist during his recorded league career with the club.
The transfer gives AS Trencin a young attacking player with experience in Nigeria’s top flight. Garba’s previous appearances came in the NPFL, while his new club competes in Slovakia’s Nike Liga, marking a change of footballing environment for the winger.
Born on 26 July 2007, Garba has been listed as a left winger throughout his senior career. His performances for Nasarawa United included 2,365 minutes of league football, with his five goals coming at an average of one every 473 minutes.
Garba’s arrival adds another attacking option to an AS Trencin squad competing in Slovakia’s top division. The club’s decision to bring in the Nigerian follows his spell with Nasarawa United, where he established a record of regular involvement in league football despite his young age.
His move also represents a fresh stage in a career that has so far been centred on the NPFL. Garba now begins his time with AS Trencin after switching from Nigerian domestic football to the Slovakian top flight.
The transfer was completed on 21 August 2026.
