Mohamed Salah rejects €25m Al-Shabab offer to stay at Trabzonspor

Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has reportedly rejected a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab, opting to continue his career with Turkish side Trabzonspor.

According to Africafoot, citing Turkish media reports, Al-Shabab attempted to lure the 34-year-old to the Saudi Pro League with a proposal that included an annual salary of €25 million.

However, Salah is said to have turned down the offer, signalling his desire to remain in Turkey despite the financial incentives attached to the move.

The former Liverpool forward has reportedly gone a step further by instructing his agent, Rami Abbas, to stop presenting him with new transfer offers as he looks to concentrate on his current spell at Trabzonspor.

Salah’s decision comes after an impressive start to the campaign, with the Egyptian international reportedly registering 10 goals and five assists in 13 appearances across all competitions.

His 15 goal contributions have attracted interest from clubs seeking to strengthen their attacking options, but the forward appears determined to continue his development in Turkey.

Salah is under contract with Trabzonspor until June 30, 2028, while his market value is estimated at approximately €17 million.

Trabzonspor will hope to retain his services as they prepare for their upcoming UEFA Conference League fixture against German side Freiburg.

For Al-Shabab, the reported rejection represents a setback in their efforts to strengthen their squad, with Salah choosing to remain in Europe rather than take up the lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia.
