Morocco-Netherlands attacking midfielder Mohamed Ihattaren of Fortuna Sittard is being linked with a summer move to Eredivisie rivals FC Twente. The 24-year-old, who operates primarily as an attacking midfielder, is under contract in Sittard until 30 June 2027 but is attracting interest after re-establishing himself in the Dutch top flight.
Ihattaren joined Fortuna Sittard from RKC Waalwijk on 14 August 2025 for a reported €100,000 fee and has since rebuilt his reputation in the Eredivisie. Across his career in the Dutch top tier he has made 108 appearances, scoring 16 goals and providing 23 assists, underlining his ability to influence games in the final third.
Any negotiations with Twente are likely to be shaped by his current market valuation of around €3 million and the fact Fortuna hold him for another year beyond this season. Fortuna secured him on relatively modest terms after a spell that included short stints at Slavia Praha and Samsunspor and a period without a club, and they would be in a strong position to demand a profit if they choose to sell.
Ihattaren’s pedigree includes a Dutch league title in the 2021-22 season with Ajax and a European Under-17 Championship triumph with the Netherlands in 2018, honours that continue to carry weight as clubs assess his potential impact.
For now, Ihattaren remains a Fortuna Sittard player with two years left on his deal, and any move to Enschede would require Twente to agree terms with a club that has already shown faith in revitalising his career.
