Mohamed Azzi completes four-year move to CSKA Moscow from Dynamo Makhachkala

Mohamed Azzi has officially joined CSKA Moscow on a four-year contract after completing his transfer from fellow Russian club Dynamo Makhachkala.

The Algeria defender has finalised all the formalities of the move alongside his agent, bringing an end to uncertainty over his future after interest from several European clubs during the summer.

Azzi opted to remain in a league he already knows, despite receiving approaches from clubs elsewhere in Europe. His decision means he will continue his career in Russia with CSKA Moscow, following his departure from Dynamo Makhachkala.

The transfer is worth about 3.3m euros, according to Maghreb-Foot. The agreement also includes a financial benefit for CR Belouizdad, who are due to receive 20% of the fee.

That clause was agreed when Azzi left the Algerian club. As a result, CR Belouizdad will receive a share of the amount paid for the defender’s move to CSKA Moscow.

The deal represents the latest stage in Azzi’s career and keeps him in the same national championship, a factor that influenced his decision after the interest shown by other European sides. His four-year commitment now ties him to CSKA Moscow following his spell with Dynamo Makhachkala.

The transfer is among the latest developments highlighted by Africafoot in its live coverage of African football. The outlet’s 3 September 2026 news feed focuses on transfer rumours, completed deals, records and other stories involving African players.

For CSKA Moscow, the agreement secures the services of an Algerian defender who has chosen continuity in Russia rather than a move to another European league. For Azzi, it provides a long-term arrangement with a new club while allowing him to remain in familiar domestic surroundings.

Financially, the transaction also brings a return to CR Belouizdad through the 20% sell-on clause included in the terms of his earlier departure. The payment will be calculated from the reported 3.3m-euro transfer fee.

Azzi’s move has now been formally completed, with the player, his agent and CSKA Moscow having concluded the required procedures. The four-year contract confirms the Russian club as his next destination after Dynamo Makhachkala, while the financial details ensure CR Belouizdad will benefit from the transfer.
