Milan have signed Omari Hutchinson from Nottingham Forest on an initial 12-month loan, with the Italian club holding an option to make the transfer permanent next summer.
The move comes after Milan sanctioned the departure of Rafael Leao to Galatasaray last week. The Portugal international left the Rossoneri having made 291 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 80 goals and supplying 55 assists.
Hutchinson, 22, joined Forest from Ipswich Town for £37.5m last year but found opportunities limited at the City Ground. He started only 17 Premier League matches during the 2025-26 season and scored once.
The winger, who came through Chelsea’s academy, will now continue his career at San Siro as Milan look to strengthen their attacking options following Leao’s departure.
Leao had been an important figure for the Italian giants, but his move to Galatasaray means Milan have had to reshape their forward line. Hutchinson arrives after a difficult first season at Forest, where he was unable to establish himself as a regular starter despite the significant fee paid for his services.
His loan agreement with Milan includes the possibility of a permanent transfer at the end of the season, allowing the club to assess his performances before deciding whether to complete the move.
Milan have also allowed another forward to leave, with Santiago Gimenez joining Porto on a season-long loan. The agreement includes an option for Porto to sign the 25-year-old permanently for €18m.
Gimenez moved to the Rossoneri from Feyenoord in January 2025, but his time in Italy has not produced the expected impact. He scored seven goals in 37 appearances across all competitions before departing for Portugal.
The changes at Milan come as the club manage both the loss of established attacking talent and the futures of players who have struggled to make a consistent impression. Hutchinson will be expected to provide an alternative on the wing, while Gimenez’s temporary move gives him the opportunity to revive his form at Porto.
Another English player has also moved abroad, with Tottenham’s Mikey Moore joining Bundesliga side Koln on a season-long loan.
Moore, 19, spent last season on loan in Scotland with Rangers, where he enjoyed a productive campaign. He scored seven goals in 47 appearances during that spell and will now continue his development in Germany.
For Milan, Hutchinson’s arrival represents the first major response to Leao’s exit, although the club have also seen Gimenez leave on loan. The English winger will begin his first season in Serie A hoping to earn more regular football than he managed at Nottingham Forest.
