RB Leipzig manager Martin Demichelis has backed Franco Mastantuono to overcome the challenges of his first season in Spain, saying the young Argentine “needs time”.
Demichelis was speaking before Leipzig’s Champions League match against Real Madrid. He handed Mastantuono his senior debut for River Plate when the midfielder was 16.
The German club’s manager believes Mastantuono has all the qualities required to establish himself in Madrid, despite the difficulties he has faced during his first season in Spain.
Mastantuono is currently playing for Fiorentina on loan. He has scored three goals in seven Serie A appearances this season.
