Morocco’s MAS Fes have signed Mozambique and Portugal defender Diogo Calila from Santa Clara for €86,000, bringing the 27-year-old right-back to the Botola Pro Inwi.
Calila joins after featuring in all four of Santa Clara’s Liga Portugal matches this season. He started every game, played 99% of the available minutes and provided one assist, contributing to 20% of the club’s goals during that run.
The move takes the full-back out of Portugal’s top flight and into Moroccan football, with MAS Fes adding a right-sided defender who prefers his right foot. Calila stands 1.80m tall and was born in Seixal, Portugal, on 10 October 1998.
His most significant honour came with Santa Clara in 2024, when he won the Portuguese second-division title. That success formed part of his previous spell with the club, where he had established himself as a regular option at right-back.
Calila’s latest recorded market value is €500,000, while the fee agreed for his move to MAS Fes is €86,000. No contract expiry date has been given for his new agreement.
The defender’s arrival gives MAS Fes a player with recent experience of regular first-team football. His four appearances for Santa Clara at the start of the 2026-27 Liga Portugal campaign included four starts, no disciplinary dismissals and one assist.
Calila’s career record in the competition stands at four appearances and 355 minutes, with one assist recorded. He now begins the next stage of his career in Morocco after completing his move from Santa Clara.
The transfer to MAS Fes was completed on 3 September 2026.
