Marumo Gallants have strengthened their squad with the signing of 12 new players as they prepare for the start of the 2026-27 Betway Premiership season.
The club unveiled the new arrivals ahead of a campaign in which they will be aiming for a significant improvement after narrowly avoiding relegation last term.
Gallants finished 14th in the league last season, securing their top-flight status by the slimmest of margins, and have responded by reshaping their squad before the new campaign gets under way.
Their opening fixture has also changed. Gallants had initially been scheduled to begin the season against defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns, but the Premier Soccer League approved the postponement of that match as Sundowns continue to mourn the death of midfielder Jayden Adams, who was laid to rest over the weekend.
Instead, Bahlabane Ba Ntwa will kick off their league campaign against newly promoted Kruger United at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Tuesday, 11 August.
The club’s 12 new signings are Lepelesana Onalenna, Emile Mako, Mlungisi Sikakane, Lukhele Thokozani, Thabang Sesinyi, Patrick Motshoeneng, Kgomotso Marebane, Thabiso Mkhwanazi, Thato Peeha, Prince Manku, Thato Mohlomme and Samkele Sihlali.
Gallants will hope the influx of fresh talent provides the foundation for a more competitive season as they seek to move away from the relegation battle and establish themselves in the upper reaches of the Premiership.
