Manchester United target Ivorian-linked striker Bonny in €35m move

Manchester United F.C. are exploring a potential move for Inter Milan forward Ange-Yoan Bonny as the club looks to strengthen its attacking options ahead of the next transfer window.

The 22-year-old striker, who has been making steady progress in Italy, is reportedly valued at around €35 million.

While no formal offer has been confirmed, reports suggest that the Premier League side is closely monitoring his situation and could make an approach in the coming months.

Bonny, a French player of Ivorian descent, represents part of a growing pool of European-based footballers with African heritage attracting attention at the highest level.

His development is being followed not only by clubs but also by observers of African football, given the increasing influence of dual-heritage players in the global game.

The forward joined Inter Milan from Parma last summer in a deal worth €23 million and has since begun to establish himself within the squad.

Across all competitions, he has scored seven goals in 37 appearances, a return that underlines his potential as a long-term attacking option.

Despite his relatively recent arrival, interest in Bonny is already growing. Manchester United are believed to see him as a player for the future, someone who could develop into a key figure while also providing immediate support in attack.

Reports indicate that he could be viewed as a complementary option to Benjamin Sesko as the club reshapes its forward line.

However, securing his signature may prove challenging. Inter Milan are understood to be reluctant to part with a player they see as an important investment, particularly given that he remains under contract until 2030.

The Italian side are yet to publicly state their asking price beyond general valuations, and negotiations, if they begin, are expected to be complex.

Competition for Bonny’s signature is also expected to be strong.

Paris Saint-Germain and several clubs from Saudi Arabia are also reportedly interested in the striker, adding further pressure to any potential deal.

On the international stage, Bonny is still at an early stage of his career.

He has made two appearances for France’s under-21 side but is yet to earn a senior call-up.

His background, however, keeps open the wider conversation about players with African roots and their future international choices.

For Manchester United, the pursuit of Bonny reflects a broader strategy of investing in young talent with high potential.
