Manchester United are planning to revisit their interest in Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall with a view to signing the England player in 2027, according to TEAMtalk.
The 21-year-old remains on the club’s list of transfer targets after Manchester United were unsuccessful in their attempt to bring him in during the most recent summer transfer window.
The report says Manchester United are prepared to return for Hall in the future, with the club’s recruitment plans understood to include a renewed approach for the defender in 2027. The proposed move would come after the failure of their previous attempt to secure his transfer.
Newcastle United, however, have no intention of allowing Hall to leave and are preparing to offer him a new contract. The proposed agreement would improve the terms of his current deal as the club look to strengthen their position and retain the player.
Hall’s existing contract with Newcastle United runs until the middle of 2029. That long-term commitment gives the club significant protection should Manchester United make another approach, while also placing Newcastle United in a strong negotiating position.
Transfermarkt, the respected football statistics and valuation website, estimates Hall’s current market value at €40m.
Manchester United’s continued interest means the defender could remain a subject of transfer speculation over the next two years, despite Newcastle United’s stated intention to keep him. Any potential move would therefore depend on whether the clubs can reach an agreement and whether Hall’s position changes after the proposed contract discussions.
For now, Newcastle United remain determined to secure the player’s future on improved terms, while Manchester United are reported to be maintaining their interest ahead of a possible 2027 transfer.
