Manchester United linked with Benfica teenager Daniel Banjaqui

Portugal and Guinea-Bissau defender Daniel Banjaqui, currently at Benfica, has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the Premier League.

Banjaqui, 18, plays at right-back and has established himself across Benfica’s senior and reserve teams during the 2026-27 season. He has made six senior appearances, including three starts in Liga Portugal 2, while also featuring in the Portuguese top flight and the Europa League.

The teenager joined Benfica’s first team from Benfica B in July 2026 and is valued at €10m. He remains under contract with the Portuguese club until 30 June 2031, meaning any potential move to Manchester United would involve a transfer fee rather than a free transfer.

Banjaqui also formed part of Portugal’s Under-17 side that won the 2025 Under-17 World Cup. He helped the same team claim the European Under-17 Championship that year.

There is no indication that a move has been agreed, with the Manchester United link currently remaining a transfer rumour. Banjaqui’s current season has included regular involvement for Benfica B, alongside limited appearances for the senior side in domestic and European competition.
