Manchester United end nine-game winless run with comeback win over Roma

Manchester United ended their longest run without a victory since 1988 by recovering from 2-0 down to beat Roma 3-2 at home on Matchday 4 of the Champions League league phase.

The result brought an end to a nine-match winless sequence across all competitions, during which the club had recorded three draws and six defeats.

Roma took control by establishing a two-goal advantage, but Manchester United responded when Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty to reduce the deficit.

Cunha then completed the turnaround with two late goals, finding the net in the 83rd and 86th minutes to secure a crucial victory for Manchester United.

Before the match, the club had gone nine consecutive games without winning. The sequence had been Manchester United’s longest such run since 1988.
