Manchester City lead race to sign Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi

Manchester City have taken a significant step towards signing LOSC midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi after reaching a full verbal agreement with the highly rated young player.

The agreement with Bouaddi is understood to cover the player’s move to Manchester City and gives the Premier League club a clear advantage in the race for his signature. However, the transfer is not yet complete, with negotiations still taking place between Manchester City and LOSC over the fee.

Manchester City’s interest reflects the club’s strong belief in Bouaddi’s potential. Their representatives have convinced the midfielder to consider joining their sporting project, but the two clubs have yet to reach a final agreement.

LOSC are determined to secure a significant transfer fee for one of the most promising players to emerge from their academy. Talks between the northern French club and Manchester City are continuing as both sides attempt to find common ground on the value of the deal.

The verbal agreement with the player represents an important development, but it does not by itself guarantee that the transfer will go through. The remaining discussions between the clubs will be decisive in determining whether Bouaddi eventually moves to Manchester City.

Despite the progress made by the English club, there remains a degree of caution around the negotiations. Several major European clubs are continuing to monitor the situation closely and could attempt to enter the race if talks between Manchester City and LOSC reach an impasse.

For now, Manchester City remain clear favourites to complete the signing. Their agreement with Bouaddi places them firmly in front of the other interested clubs, although the transfer still depends on an understanding being reached with LOSC over the fee.

Bouaddi’s next career move is therefore at an advanced stage, but not yet finalised. Manchester City have secured the most important initial advantage by winning the player’s verbal commitment, while LOSC continue to protect their position in negotiations over a deal for one of their academy’s standout talents.

The situation could still change if the clubs fail to settle the financial terms or if another major European side makes a late intervention. Until those discussions are concluded, Manchester City’s lead is substantial but not definitive.
