Players from Premier League clubs and their representatives have consulted lawyers about possible claims against Manchester City over bonuses they may have lost, Sky Sports reports.
The potential claims relate to payments that footballers did not receive because of Manchester City’s results. These are understood to include bonuses linked to winning the Premier League or qualifying for European competitions.
Former club managers who suffered financial losses could also have grounds to bring claims, according to the report.
An independent Premier League commission found Manchester City guilty of breaching financial rules between 2009 and 2018.
The club’s punishment has yet to be decided, and it is currently unclear what sanction Manchester City will receive.
