Portugal and Cape Verde centre-forward Luis Semedo has joined Clermont Foot from Sunderland, moving from England’s Premier League to France’s Ligue 2.
Semedo, 23, completes the switch on 1 September 2026 and becomes a new attacking option for the French club. He will continue his career in Ligue 2 after leaving Sunderland, who competed in the Premier League.
The forward’s move represents a change of country and division, with Clermont Foot based in France and Sunderland in England. Semedo’s arrival gives Clermont a player whose primary position is centre-forward as they build their squad for the new campaign.
Born with Portuguese and Cape Verdean nationality, Semedo brings an international background to a club competing in the second tier of French football. His listed market value is €600,000.
Semedo has now completed his move to Clermont Foot from Sunderland.
