Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has given his assessment of the Ballon d’Or voting after Lamine Yamal finished third in the race for the award.
The 19-year-old Barcelona winger had been regarded as one of the leading contenders, but was beaten by winner Harry Kane of Bayern Munich and Kylian Mbappe of Real Madrid.
Yamal helped Spain win the World Cup last summer and had previously played a part in Barcelona’s La Liga triumph.
