Villarreal travel to Merseyside under Inigo Perez, who will also be missing two players. Nicolas Pepe and Tajon Buchanan are unavailable for the Spanish side.

The visitors are expected to use a 4-4-2 system, with Junior selected as goalkeeper. Mourino, Navarro, Veiga and Romero are likely to make up the back four.
