Liverpool are expected to make a third offer for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh after the Gambia international made it clear he wants to join the Reds this summer.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Minteh has told Brighton that he wants the proposed move to Liverpool to happen. The player and his representatives are understood to have communicated his position directly to the English club’s hierarchy.
That stance could influence negotiations between the two clubs, with Liverpool continuing to pursue the 22-year-old despite Brighton rejecting their first two proposals. The latest offer was reportedly worth about 69m euros, but Brighton considered that figure below their valuation of the forward.
Liverpool are now preparing a third bid, which could be submitted in the coming days and may prove decisive. The Merseyside club hope Minteh’s desire to move will help them make progress in talks with Brighton.
Minteh joined Brighton from Newcastle United in 2024 and quickly established himself as one of the club’s most promising wide players. He operates mainly on the right wing and also gained valuable experience during a loan spell at Feyenoord.
The Gambian remains under contract with Brighton until 30 June 2029. Despite that long-term agreement, he is valued at 45m euros by Transfermarkt, while Liverpool appear ready to test Brighton’s resolve with an improved proposal.
Minteh is currently injured and is expected to miss several weeks of competitive action. His fitness situation has not stopped Liverpool from pursuing the transfer, with the club remaining determined to secure his signature.
The winger earns an annual salary of 2,467,296 euros in England, equivalent to 1,603,742,400 CFA francs.
