The 18-year-old is not believed to have suffered a serious injury. According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United have already put a recovery plan in place and Miley is expected back at the club’s training ground next week.
He hopes to be fit enough to be included in Eddie Howe’s squad for Newcastle’s match against Coventry on October 12.
Miley sustained a fractured leg towards the end of last season but recovered in time to take part in pre-season preparations. Since the start of the current campaign, he has played at both right-back and in midfield under head coach Howe.
Howe previously praised Miley’s ability to contribute despite not being fully fit, particularly after he played in an unfamiliar position against Hull City.
“He’s not yet 100%, but he still put in that kind of performance against Hull City in an unfamiliar position,” Howe said. “He is still very young and very talented. We shouldn’t put too much pressure on him; we should let him develop slowly.”
