Senegal international Boulaye Dia could be on the move again this summer after Lazio reportedly made it clear they are willing to sell the striker if their valuation is met.
The Serie A club are prepared to consider offers of at least €15 million for the 29-year-old, just weeks after exercising the purchase option that secured his permanent transfer from fellow Italian side Salernitana.
Lazio are understood to have paid €11.3 million to complete Dia’s transfer, but are now reportedly open to letting him leave should a suitable bid arrive.
According to reports, the Rome-based club expects concrete offers before sanctioning a move, with French clubs believed to be among the most likely destinations.
The development raises fresh uncertainty over the future of one of Senegal’s experienced forwards, whose difficult campaign last season has seen him become one of the players linked with an exit from Lazio.
Despite only recently becoming a permanent Lazio player, the striker is reportedly on the club’s list of players available for transfer as they reshape their squad ahead of the new season.
The Biancocelesti are not expected to block his departure if interested clubs meet their asking price.
Ligue 1 has emerged as a realistic destination for Dia, whose previous spell in France earned him widespread recognition.
The Senegal international represented Stade de Reims between 2018 and 2021, establishing himself as one of the league’s most effective forwards. His 14-goal league campaign in 2021 enhanced his reputation before his move to Italy.
That record means clubs in France are already familiar with the qualities that made Dia one of Senegal’s leading attacking options in recent years.
However, his form at Lazio has not matched those earlier performances.
Dia featured in 30 matches across all competitions last season, including 27 appearances in Serie A. During that period, he managed just one league goal and registered two assists.
Those statistics represented a significant drop in output for a player who had previously built a reputation as a consistent goalscorer.
The lack of regular attacking contributions also had consequences beyond club football.
According to the information available, Dia’s reduced impact meant he missed both the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and the FIFA World Cup in the United States, a major setback for one of Senegal’s experienced internationals.
A transfer away from Lazio could therefore provide an opportunity to rebuild his career and regain the form that previously made him one of the country’s most reliable forwards.
For Senegal, a return to consistent playing time would be particularly important, with experienced players remaining central to the national team’s ambitions in future international competitions.
