Kylian Mbappe concerned by Real Madrid’s Ballon d’Or support, reports say

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe reportedly believes he may miss out on the Ballon d’Or because of what he sees as insufficient backing from the Spanish club.

The claim was made on social media by journalist Ivan Martin, who said Mbappe was unhappy with the way Real Madrid has promoted his candidacy in the media.

Mbappe had also expected public support from former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, but no statement backing the France international has been forthcoming.

The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony is scheduled to take place on Monday, 26 October, in London.

Barcelona midfielder Lamine Yamal was previously reported to be the leading contender for the award.
