Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dejan Kulusevski said his 526-day absence from football has changed his perspective, identifying God and his family as the most important parts of his life.
Kulusevski returned to the field after the lengthy spell away and reflected on his journey in a social media post. He also thanked those who helped make his comeback and the night of his return special.
“The most important thing I’ve learned during this time is that God is the most important being in life,” Kulusevski wrote.
“Without Him, I can do nothing; but with Him, I can do everything. From now on, I want to live for Him, not for this world.”
He added that family was the second central pillar of his life.
“The second most important thing is family. If you have these two things in your life, you have everything.”
Kulusevski expressed his gratitude to everyone who had supported him during his recovery and return to action.
“Thank you to everyone who made this night and this journey so special,” he wrote.
“But remember, this is not the end of the whole story, but just one chapter. ✝️”
