Kotoko Coach Begs Fans: “Don’t Give Up Yet”

Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prince Owusu, has called on supporters to remain patient and continue backing the team despite a difficult run of form in the ongoing 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

The Porcupine Warriors have struggled to maintain consistency in recent weeks, raising concerns among fans about their chances of competing for the league title. Kotoko have managed just one victory in their last five matches, losing three and drawing one, a run that has significantly dented confidence within the fan base.

The team’s inconsistent performances have led to growing frustration among supporters, with some already writing off their title ambitions. However, Owusu believes it is too early to lose faith and insists the squad is determined to improve results in the coming weeks.

Speaking ahead of Kotoko’s upcoming fixture against Nations FC, the coach acknowledged the disappointment among fans but urged them to stay united with the team.

“Yeah, I don’t blame them for giving up and everything, but I still want to tell them that there’s hope. And then we are ready to turn this around. Where we are in the league, that’s not where we’re going to end up. So, they should be with us till we get up there. So, we will be happy together,” the coach said.

Kotoko’s recent dip in form has placed them under pressure as the season enters a crucial phase. With the title race tightening, every point will be vital if they are to remain competitive against their rivals.

Despite the challenges, Owusu maintains that the current position does not reflect the team’s true potential. He expressed confidence that the players are motivated to reverse their fortunes and climb back up the table.

Sunday’s clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium presents an opportunity for Kotoko to respond. A positive result against Nations FC could help restore belief among supporters and provide a much-needed boost to the squad.

The fixture is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 local time, and expectations remain high as Kotoko seek to rediscover their winning form.

For now, the message from the dugout is clear: patience, unity, and belief are essential if the Porcupine Warriors are to turn their season around and finish strongly.
