Kike Salas says Arda Guler should have been sent off before Real Madrid goal

Sevilla defender Kike Salas criticised the refereeing during the first half of his side’s match against Real Madrid, claiming Arda Guler should have been dismissed before scoring.

Guler was involved in an incident with Peque in the 23rd minute as the two players challenged for the ball. The Real Madrid player swung his arm and struck his opponent in the face with his elbow.

Peque fell to the ground, but the referee did not show Guler a yellow card or take further action.

Seven minutes later, Guler opened the scoring for Real Madrid. Kylian Mbappe then doubled the visitors’ advantage in the 37th minute.

Salas expressed his frustration with the officials’ handling of the incident and argued that Guler should have been sent off before finding the net.
