Juventus have reportedly joined the race to sign Morocco international goalkeeper Yassine Bounou as uncertainty continues to surround his future at Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.
According to Al Jazeera Sports, the Serie A giants are monitoring the experienced goalkeeper and could submit an offer worth around €9 million amid growing speculation over his role at the Riyadh club.
Al Hilal considering squad changes
Reports indicate that Al Hilal are reviewing their squad registration plans ahead of the new season, with Bounou’s position potentially affected.
Saudi outlet Koora reported that the club are considering registering the Moroccan goalkeeper exclusively for the AFC Champions League Elite, while Mohammed Al Owais would become the first-choice goalkeeper for Saudi Pro League matches.
The proposed arrangement is reportedly linked to Al Hilal’s plans to accommodate the expected arrival of Crysencio Summerville from West Ham United. By using Al Owais in domestic competitions, the club would free up a foreign-player slot for the Dutch winger.
Bounou unwilling to accept reduced role
According to Al Jazeera Sports, Bounou is unwilling to accept a role limited to continental competition, despite being under contract with Al Hilal until 2028.
His stance has fuelled speculation that he could leave the Saudi club before the transfer window closes.
World Cup performances attract European interest
The 35-year-old enhanced his reputation during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he helped Morocco reach the quarter-finals with a series of outstanding displays.
Among his standout moments were penalty saves against the Netherlands in the Round of 32 and a crucial stop from Kylian Mbappé during Morocco’s quarter-final defeat to France.
Those performances have reinforced his standing as one of Africa’s top goalkeepers and attracted interest from several European clubs.
Juventus monitoring situation
Turkish club Fenerbahçe have previously been linked with Bounou, while Juventus are now reportedly evaluating the possibility of adding the Moroccan to their goalkeeping options.
Neither Al Hilal nor Bounou has publicly commented on the reports, while Juventus have also remained silent regarding the transfer speculation.
