Sudan centre-forward John Mano of Libyan Premier League side Al-Akhdar is being linked with a move to Tanzanian club Azam FC. The 24-year-old, who wears the number 10 shirt for the Libyan outfit, has emerged as a target as Azam look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
Mano joined Al-Akhdar on a free transfer from Al-Ahly in October 2025 and is currently valued at around €100,000, a figure that is expected to shape any negotiations between the clubs. There is no fixed expiry date publicly known on his deal with Al-Akhdar, which could give the Libyan side room to hold out for a fee rather than risk losing him cheaply in the near future.
The Sudanese forward has gained experience in both domestic and continental competition with Al-Akhdar, featuring in the Libyan Premier League and the CAF Champions League. He has also appeared in regional qualification and championship play-off fixtures, adding goals and assists across those knockout campaigns and demonstrating an ability to contribute in decisive matches.
Mano’s potential switch would represent his first move outside North and East Africa’s Arabic-speaking leagues after stints with Kober Khartoum, Al-Hilal, Al-Sadaqa SC and Al-Ahly before settling at Al-Akhdar. For now he remains on the books of the Libyan club, who must decide whether to cash in on a player whose market value has recently peaked at €125,000 or keep him as part of their attacking options for the coming season.
