Jocelyn Janneh, the Guinea-Sierra Leone defensive midfielder currently at SC Bastia, is being linked with a summer move to Polish Ekstraklasa side Wisla Krakow. The 23-year-old is under contract with the Corsican club until 30 June 2027, meaning any deal would require the Polish outfit to negotiate a transfer fee rather than wait for a free transfer.
Janneh has established himself as a regular in France’s professional ranks, making 87 appearances in Ligue 2 and passing 5,600 minutes of league action for Bastia. His role has been primarily anchoring midfield, with three recorded assists in that time, and his experience in a competitive European second tier is understood to have drawn attention from abroad.
Born in Freetown and standing at 1.84m, Janneh joined Bastia from Turkish club Kayserispor in July 2022. That move came after a brief spell in the Turkish top flight, where he featured in the Super Lig before heading to France and consolidating his place in Bastia’s senior squad.
Wisla Krakow’s interest would represent a switch from French football to Poland’s top division for Janneh, at a point when his market value is listed at around €800,000. Bastia, currently operating outside the top two tiers domestically, may face a decision over whether to cash in on a player tied down for another year. For now, Janneh remains contracted to the Corsican side, with his future likely to hinge on whether Wisla decide to firm up their interest in the coming weeks.
