Ivory Coast midfielder Oulaï linked with big-money move to Turkey

Turkish side Trabzonspor could be set to lose one of their brightest young talents after midfielder Christ Inao Oulaï attracted strong interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old Ivorian central midfielder has enjoyed a rapid rise since joining Trabzonspor in the summer of 2025 for a reported fee of €5.5m (£4.7m).

After quickly adapting to life in the Turkish league, Oulaï’s performances have significantly increased his reputation, with several clubs now reportedly monitoring the player.

Trabzonspor are increasingly resigned to the possibility of losing the midfielder during the upcoming transfer window as interest in him continues to intensify.

The club is said to have already received offers worth more than €30m, underlining how highly the young midfielder is now rated after an impressive first season in Turkey.

The reported valuation marks a dramatic increase in market value within less than a year and reflects the growing demand across European football for emerging African talent.

Oulaï has been recognised for his creativity and energy in midfield, qualities that have helped establish him as one of the standout young African players currently playing in the Turkish top flight.

His rise has also extended onto the international stage.

The midfielder featured in four matches during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and later earned a call-up to the Ivory Coast national team for a series of friendly matches in November 2025.

The national team recognition further strengthened his growing profile and reinforced his status as one of Ivory Coast’s emerging midfield prospects.

Trabzonspor’s recruitment of Oulaï is increasingly being viewed as one of the club’s smartest recent transfer decisions.

Securing a player who is now attracting offers more than five times his original transfer fee highlights both the player’s development and the club’s ability to identify promising talent early.

Oulaï’s development in Turkey could now place him on the radar of even larger European clubs if interest continues to grow during the summer.

Despite his young age, the midfielder has already demonstrated an ability to adapt quickly to new environments and compete consistently at a high level.

With the transfer market approaching, attention is now likely to focus on whether Trabzonspor can retain one of their most valuable assets or decide to cash in on a player whose value has surged in a remarkably short period of time.
