Ivorian youngster Amadou Koné shines again as Neom stun Al Hilal

Amadou Koné continued his impressive start to the season by scoring again as Neom secured a 2-0 victory away to Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

The 21-year-old midfielder doubled Neom’s advantage just before half-time, adding another decisive contribution to a remarkable opening spell that has already produced three goals and one assist in six matches.

Koné’s latest performance came against one of the biggest clubs in Saudi football, with his contribution helping Neom secure an important victory on the road.

Neom took the lead in the 15th minute when Al Hilal defender Kalidou Koulibaly put the ball into his own net.

The visitors then extended their advantage shortly before the interval, with Koné finding the back of the net in the 45th minute to give Neom a 2-0 lead at half-time.

The result continues what has been a highly productive start to the campaign for the young midfielder.

Koné had already been involved in two goals during Neom’s previous league victory over Al Khaleej, scoring once and providing an assist in a 3-0 win.

He followed that display with another goal against Al Hilal, giving him three goals and one assist after six matches.

His attacking contribution is particularly notable given his position as a defensive midfielder.

Koné’s current scoring record has also surpassed his output from the previous season. He managed only two goals in 32 appearances last campaign, but has already gone beyond that total after just six matches this time around.

The midfielder has scored in each of his last two appearances, while also providing an assist during that period.

That run of form is helping establish Koné as one of Neom’s increasingly influential players in the final third despite his primary role in midfield.

His performances have also increased attention around a player who is still only 21.

Koné’s combination of defensive midfield responsibilities and an ability to contribute goals and assists has made him one of the standout performers during Neom’s early-season campaign.

His latest contribution against Al Hilal further underlined his growing influence.

For Neom, the immediate priority will be to maintain the momentum generated by their strong start, while Koné will look to continue producing the kind of performances that have made him one of the team’s most decisive players.

The midfielder now has the opportunity to improve significantly on his previous season’s numbers if his current form continues.

After scoring just twice across 32 matches last season, Koné has already found the net three times in six games this campaign.

His recent performances against Al Khaleej and Al Hilal suggest he is becoming increasingly comfortable in his role and capable of making an impact in important matches.

The victory over Al Hilal represents another significant step in that development.

With three goals and an assist already to his name, Koné has made a strong early case for greater attention as Neom’s campaign progresses.

For the young midfielder, maintaining that level of consistency will now be the challenge as he attempts to establish himself permanently among the most influential players in the Neom squad.
