Ivorian forward Patrick Ouotro has completed a move to Portuguese top-flight club Vitória Guimarães, signing a four-year contract as he takes another step in his European career.
The 20-year-old striker joins the Liga Portugal side after leaving French club AS Nancy-Lorraine, where he featured in Ligue 2 last season.
Guimarães confirmed the arrival of the Côte d’Ivoire youth international, with the club viewing Ouotro as a long-term investment for their first-team squad.
The deal will keep the attacker at the Portuguese club until 2030, giving him the opportunity to continue his development in one of Europe’s competitive leagues.
Born in Toulépleu, Côte d’Ivoire, Ouotro began making headlines in his home country before earning a move to Europe.
He first caught attention during the 2022/23 season while playing for LYS Sassandra in the Ivorian top flight.
His performances earned him recognition as one of the league’s standout young players, including winning the Player of the Month award in November 2022.
Known for his speed, strength and fearless style of play, Ouotro’s progress attracted interest from abroad and led to a move to France with Strasbourg.
At just 18 years old, he made his first appearances in French Ligue 1, mainly featuring for Strasbourg’s reserve side as he adapted to European football.
His development continued through spells with FC Martigues in Ligue 2 and Belgian side RCF Seraing before joining AS Nancy.
During the 2024/25 campaign, Ouotro played 22 matches for Nancy in Ligue 2, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
His performances convinced Vitória Guimarães to make a move for the young attacker, who can operate across all three attacking positions.
The Portuguese club believes his versatility and attacking qualities can provide an additional option for head coach Tiago Margarido as they prepare for the new season.
For Ouotro, the transfer represents an important opportunity to establish himself at a higher level and continue pushing towards recognition with the Ivory Coast senior national team, known as the Elephants.
The striker has already represented Côte d’Ivoire at youth level and remains one of the country’s promising attacking prospects.
His move also continues the growing trend of African talents using European leagues as a pathway to develop their careers and compete at the highest level.
After beginning his journey in Ivorian football, progressing through France and gaining experience in Belgium, Ouotro now arrives in Portugal with the ambition of making a lasting impression.
