Issa Kabore, the Burkina Faso right-back currently at Manchester City, is being linked with a move to Championship side West Bromwich Albion. The 25-year-old has one year remaining on his contract at Etihad Stadium, which runs until 30 June 2027, and his situation is being monitored as clubs in the second tier look to strengthen before the new season.
Kabore is valued at around €4m and has spent much of his City career out on loan, most recently at Wrexham in the 2025-26 campaign. Before that he had temporary spells with Werder Bremen, Benfica and Luton Town, reflecting City’s preference to develop him with regular senior football away from Manchester.
His most extensive top-flight experience has come in France, where he made 53 Ligue 1 appearances, and in England with a 24-game Premier League stint that yielded two assists. In the Championship he has already featured 30 times, providing eight assists, underlining his familiarity with the division West Brom compete in.
Kabore joined Manchester City from Belgian side KV Mechelen in July 2020 and later collected an English Super Cup winners’ medal in 2024-25. He was also named best young player with Burkina Faso in 2021, enhancing his reputation at international level.
West Brom’s interest comes as City face a decision over whether to cash in this summer or risk losing Kabore closer to the end of his deal. For now he remains on City’s books with his long-term future at the club unresolved.
