Issa Kaboré returns to Manchester City after productive Wrexham loan spell

Issa Kaboré has returned to Manchester City following the conclusion of his loan spell with Wrexham AFC after an impressive season in England’s second division.

The Burkina Faso international enjoyed a strong campaign at Wrexham, where he established himself as an important part of the squad and helped the club secure a seventh-place finish in the league standings.

Kaboré made 32 appearances during the season, contributing eight assists while accumulating 2,302 minutes of action across all competitions.

Wrexham officially confirmed the end of the temporary agreement through a message shared on Instagram, bringing the defender’s spell at the club to a close.

The loan arrangement did not contain an option for a permanent transfer, meaning the 24-year-old now returns to Manchester City, where he remains under contract until June 2027.

Despite rejoining the Premier League champions, uncertainty continues to surround the next stage of Kaboré’s career.

Reports suggest Manchester City are still evaluating their plans for the defender as interest in the player grows following his performances in England.

A possible return to France has already emerged among the options being discussed, with ES Troyes AC reportedly considering a move for the Burkina Faso international.

Several other clubs are also believed to be monitoring his situation closely ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Kaboré has spent recent seasons gaining experience through multiple loan spells while remaining tied to Manchester City’s long-term project.

His latest campaign at Wrexham further enhanced his reputation, particularly through his ability to contribute both defensively and offensively from wide areas.

The defender’s market value is currently estimated at around four million euros, adding to growing interest surrounding his future.

For now, however, Kaboré returns to Manchester City with no final decision yet made regarding where he will play next season as discussions over his future continue.
