Inter have submitted a 23-man List A squad for their 2026-27 Champions League campaign, with summer arrivals John Stones, Curtis Jones, Aleksandar Stankovic and Djed Spence all included in the senior selection.
All clubs involved in UEFA competitions this season were required to register their squads for the league phase by the end of Wednesday, 2 September, one day after the summer transfer window closed in most European countries.
Clubs can list up to 25 players on List A, although the squad must include at least two goalkeepers and eight locally trained players. These are players who were based in Italy for at least three uninterrupted years between the ages of 15 and 21.
Inter have named only 23 players because they have seven locally trained players rather than the required eight. Where a club does not meet the quota, the maximum size of its List A squad is reduced accordingly.
Their locally trained players are Ivan Provedel, Raffaele Di Gennaro, Alessandro Bastoni, Federico Dimarco, Mattia Marello, Nicolo Barella and Poland international Piotr Zielinski. Zielinski joined Udinese at the age of 16 and has been based in Italy ever since.

Defenders: John Stones, Manuel Akanji, Benjamin Pavard, Carlos Augusto, Yann-Aurel Bisseck, Federico Dimarco, Mattia Marello, Alessandro Bastoni, Djed Spence.
Midfielders: Piotr Zielinski, Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, Andy Diouf, Hakan Calhanoglu, Curtis Jones, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Nicolo Barella.
Forwards: Marcus Thuram, Lautaro Martinez, Ange-Yoan Bonny.
Esposito and Stankovic included on List B
UEFA regulations also allow clubs to register an unlimited number of players on List B, which is generally used for youth-team players.
To qualify, a player must have been born on or after 1 January 2005 and must have spent at least two uninterrupted years with the club.
That provision applies to 21-year-old Italy international Francesco Pio Esposito, who was born on 28 June 2005. He has therefore been registered on Inter’s List B instead of taking one of the places in the senior squad’s List A.
Aleksandar Stankovic is also on List B. He spent his entire youth career with Inter and meets the age requirement.
Inter have confirmed that Stankovic and Francesco Pio Esposito are included on List B, although the club has not specified which other players are registered there.
The Champions League league phase squad submission came after the end of the summer transfer window for the majority of European nations, with clubs now required to compete with the lists they have formally submitted to UEFA.
