Tunisian winger Houssem Habbassi has joined Iraqi side Al-Mina’a SC on a free transfer from Al-Nasr SC.
The 30-year-old right-sided attacker, who favours his left foot, moves into the Iraq Stars League after a spell in Kuwait with Al-Nasr, whom he had joined from US Ben Guerdane. The move adds an experienced wide option to Al-Mina’a’s attack as they prepare for the new campaign.
Habbassi brings extensive top-flight experience from his time in Tunisia and North Africa. He has made more than 120 domestic appearances across various competitions, including 97 outings in the Tunisian Ligue 1, where he recorded eight goals and five assists.
His most productive spell in front of goal came in the Ligue I Pro playout phase, where he scored five times and set up one goal in 14 matches, underlining his ability to contribute in decisive stages of the season. Habbassi has also featured in continental competition, scoring once in the CAF Confederation Cup and gaining further experience in knockout and super cup fixtures.
Before moving abroad, the 1.75m winger played for several Tunisian clubs, including Club Africain, CA Bizertin and Stade Tunisien, after progressing from CS Sfaxien’s youth ranks into their senior set-up. His subsequent moves to Al-Wahda Tripoli and Al-Ahli gave him further exposure outside Tunisia before his switch to US Ben Guerdane and then Al-Nasr.
Habbassi now begins the latest chapter of his career with Al-Mina’a SC following the completion of his free transfer on 20 July 2026.
