Former England and Liverpool striker Emile Heskey is reportedly set to divorce his English-Ghanaian wife, Chantelle Tagoe, after 12 years of marriage.
The former international, who retired from professional football in 2016, and Tagoe have three children together. Their two sons have already begun pursuing careers in football, representing Manchester City’s youth teams.
Reports of the couple’s separation emerged after Heskey was tagged in social media posts by Jade Slusarczyk, who has been identified as his new partner.
Jade, who is the former partner of snooker legend Jimmy White, shared photographs on Instagram featuring Heskey. Alongside the images, she wrote: “great night with Heskey”, accompanied by love emojis.
The pair were also seen together at the Ricky Hatton tribute event in Manchester last month, where they appeared on the red carpet.
Although the divorce proceedings between Heskey and Tagoe have not yet been made public, the former England forward appears to have moved on following the reported end of their relationship.
Heskey and Tagoe’s relationship stretches back two decades. The pair first met around 20 years ago when Tagoe was working as a waitress in Liverpool.
Their relationship later developed into marriage, with the couple tying the knot in 2014. During their time together they had three children – two sons and a daughter.
Their sons, Jaden and Reigan, have already attracted attention through their football development at Manchester City.
Last season, both youngsters made their senior debuts for the club during Manchester City’s Carabao Cup victory over Huddersfield Town, marking an important milestone in their emerging careers.
Their progress follows in the footsteps of their father, who enjoyed a lengthy professional career in English football.
Heskey played for England and Liverpool during a career that also saw him establish himself as one of the Premier League’s most recognisable forwards.
He retired from football in 2016 after making 516 Premier League appearances and scoring 110 goals.
The reported separation marks the end of a marriage that lasted 12 years, although the couple’s relationship dates back much further, having first met approximately two decades ago.
While details surrounding the reported divorce have yet to be made public, recent public appearances and social media activity have fuelled speculation that Heskey has entered a new relationship.
Away from developments in his personal life, the former striker continues to see his football legacy carried on through his sons, Jaden and Reigan, whose early progress at Manchester City has seen both make their senior debuts and begin forging careers of their own.
