Hasaacas Ladies and Army Ladies set up Women’s FA Cup final clash in Ghana

Hasaacas Ladies will meet Army Ladies in the final of the 2025/2026 Women’s FA Cup following convincing semi-final victories for both teams at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Saturday.

The two sides progressed in emphatic fashion, underlining their status as strong contenders for the title and setting up what is expected to be a closely fought final.

Hasaacas Ladies secured their place in the final with a comfortable 3-0 win over Jonina Ladies. The team delivered a composed and assured performance, controlling proceedings throughout the match.

Their experience and organisation were evident as they dominated from the opening stages and never allowed their opponents to gain a foothold in the contest.

The victory continues Hasaacas Ladies’ reputation as one of the leading sides in women’s football, and they will now be aiming to add another trophy to their honours.

Army Ladies, meanwhile, produced an even more emphatic result in their semi-final encounter, defeating Samartex Ladies 5-1. Their performance was marked by attacking efficiency and a strong finish, particularly in the latter stages of the game.

Alamisi Atakaga opened the scoring in the 39th minute, giving Army Ladies a deserved lead heading into the break. Samartex Ladies responded after half-time, with Alex Ibinabo Georgewill finding the net in the 60th minute to reduce the deficit and briefly revive their side’s hopes.

However, Army Ladies quickly reasserted their dominance. Just two minutes after conceding, Zinatu Alhassan restored the advantage in the 62nd minute, shifting the momentum firmly back in their favour.

The closing stages saw Army Ladies take full control as they extended their lead with a series of late goals. Linda Achiaa made it 3-1 in the 80th minute, before Esther Asamoah Yiadom added a fourth in the 86th minute. Afia Boadwa Twumwaa then completed the scoring with a stoppage-time goal, sealing an emphatic 5-1 victory.

With both finalists recording dominant wins and showing strong form, anticipation is building ahead of the final.
