Harry Kane will face one of his former clubs when Bayern host Arsenal in the third round of the Champions League group stage, with the England striker having scored 15 goals against the London side during his career.
Kane’s record against Arsenal is bettered only by his totals against Leicester City and Everton. He has scored 20 times in 20 official appearances against Leicester City, while his 16 goals in 17 matches against Everton make them the two clubs against which he has found the net more frequently.
The 15 goals Kane has scored against Arsenal have come in 22 official matches. He previously spent time in Arsenal’s youth team but has since developed a prolific record against the club during his professional career.
Kane will also take a nine-match Champions League scoring run into the fixture. Only three players had previously scored in nine consecutive matches in the competition: Robert Lewandowski, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The match will be the ninth occasion on which Kane has scored at least twice in a Champions League game for Bayern.
Only Lewandowski has achieved that feat more often for the club. The Polish striker scored two or more goals in 17 Champions League matches during his time at Bayern.
