Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane says he is not concerned about the timing of discussions over a contract extension with the Bundesliga champions, insisting there is no need for either side to panic.
The England captain is entering the final year of his current agreement in Bavaria, but remains confident that an understanding can be reached with the German club. Talks are expected to take place over the coming days as Bayern prepare for the new season.
“We’ll talk this week and next. We’ll just have an open discussion. We’re not in a hurry or panicking.
“My full focus is onBayern Munichand the upcoming season. The talks will happen behind the scenes.”
Kane’s comments come after another outstanding campaign for Vincent Kompany’s side. The 33-year-old scored 36 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances last season, the third-highest total recorded in a single German top-flight campaign.
He also helped Bayern Munich complete a league and cup double, while his 61 goals in all competitions represented the best scoring season of his career.
Those performances have placed Kane among the contenders for the 2027 Ballon d’Or, with the England captain in the running to win the prestigious individual award for the first time.
His club form was followed by a major international campaign. Kane led England to the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in July before turning his attention back to Bayern Munich.
The striker has already begun the new season with a trophy, scoring as Bayern Munich defeated Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup. He is now focused on maintaining that momentum while the club considers the next stage of his future.
Kane has been linked with a possible return to the Premier League, but he appears keen to remain in Germany. A major motivation is his ambition to win the UEFA Champions League, a trophy he has yet to secure.
The forward joined Bayern Munich with the aim of competing for the biggest honours in European club football and has since established himself as a central figure in the team. His goals have helped deliver domestic success, while his latest campaign strengthened his reputation as one of the leading strikers in the game.
Although negotiations over a new agreement have not yet been completed, Kane’s message is that the process will be handled calmly. He plans to concentrate on Bayern Munich’s upcoming fixtures while discussions with the club take place away from the spotlight.
With his current contract entering its final season, the talks will determine whether Kane’s time in Bavaria continues beyond its present term. For now, both the player and Bayern Munich are expected to approach the negotiations without urgency, as the striker pursues further domestic success and his long-held UEFA Champions League ambition.
