Tunisia centre-forward Hamdi Labidi has joined ES Zarzis on a free transfer from Olympique Akbou, signing a contract with the Tunisian Ligue 1 side until 30 June 2028. The 24-year-old arrives with a market valuation of €400,000 and will lead the line for Zarzis after completing his move on 27 July 2026.
Labidi, born in Tunis and right-footed, returns to Tunisian football following a short spell in Algeria with Olympique Akbou, which he had joined in January 2026. His switch back across the border marks a new chapter for a player who first made his name in Ligue 1 with Club Africain, where he stepped up from the under-19s in 2020.
A 1.77m centre-forward, Labidi has built a solid record in domestic and continental competition, scoring 13 goals and providing six assists in 74 Ligue 1 appearances, and adding further strikes in the Tunisian Cup and CAF Confederation Cup. His minutes-per-goal ratios in the cup and African competition underline his effectiveness in knockout and international club fixtures.
Before his brief stint in Algeria, Labidi spent time in Iraq with A. Baghdad SC, adding experience in the Iraq Stars League and Iraq FA Cup to his CV. That move followed his rise at Club Africain, where he also featured in play-off campaigns at the top end of the Tunisian game.
Labidi’s move to ES Zarzis is a permanent free transfer, tying the Tunisian forward to the club for the next two seasons.
