Tickets for Algeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Zambia will go on sale on Monday, paving the way for supporters to return to the stands as Ibrahim Hamdani prepares for his first official match as national team coach.
The “Epic-Egcsto” Foundation, which manages the Hussein Ait Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou, announced that ticket sales will begin at 10:00 local time on 21 September through the Digi Ticket platform.
Algeria will face Zambia at the stadium on Friday, 25 September, in the opening round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The match will mark the beginning of Hamdani’s competitive tenure with the national team and comes after the appointment of the new coach following the end of Vladimir Petkovic’s spell in charge.
The return of supporters to the Hussein Ait Ahmed Stadium will add significance to the occasion, with the Algerian team having not played at the venue for almost a year.
The Greens’ most recent appearance at the Tizi Ouzou stadium came on 14 October 2025, when they faced Uganda in the final round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Algeria won that match 2-1, with Mohamed Amine Ammoura scoring both goals.
Hamdani is now preparing for his first competitive assignment after unveiling his initial squad on 17 September. The new coach selected 26 players for the current international camp as he begins preparations for the Zambia match.
The fixture will be followed by another qualifier away to Burundi on 29 September, when Algeria will play their second match in the group. The team will then return to Tizi Ouzou for a friendly against Niger on 6 October.
The Algeria-Zambia fixture therefore represents the first opportunity for Hamdani to put his plans into practice in a competitive match, with attention expected to focus on his team selection and tactical approach.
The Algerian side will also be looking to make use of home advantage as it begins its campaign in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The presence of supporters at the Hussein Ait Ahmed Stadium will provide the backdrop for the start of a new period under Hamdani.
For the Algerian fans, the match will also mark their return to the venue after the lengthy absence. The last time the national team played there, Ammoura’s two goals secured victory against Uganda in the World Cup qualifying campaign.
Hamdani’s first official match comes with the coach having already named his squad and completed the early stages of preparations. The focus now turns to the Zambia game, where his decisions and tactical choices will begin to shape the next stage of the Algerian national team’s campaign.
