England and Nigeria right-back Habeeb Ogunneye has joined Arsenal U21 from Manchester United U21, completing a move that brings the 20-year-old to the Premier League 2 club.
Ogunneye, who was born in London, made the switch on 30 August 2026 after spending the opening part of his professional pathway with Manchester United. He is a right-footed defender whose preferred position is at right-back.
The move follows a spell with Manchester United U21, where Ogunneye returned after a loan spell at Newport County. He joined Newport in July 2025 and went back to Manchester United in January 2026 when the loan ended.
Ogunneye had been part of Manchester United’s youth structure since joining the club’s under-18 side from the youth team in July 2022. He helped Manchester United U18 win the English Youth League in the 2023-24 season before moving into the under-21 squad that summer.
His time at Newport County came during the 2025-26 campaign, giving him experience outside Manchester United’s youth sides before his return to the club. He subsequently moved across to Arsenal’s under-21 set-up, which competes in Premier League 2.
Ogunneye has yet to make an appearance in the 2026-27 Premier League 2 campaign. His recorded figures for the competition stand at zero appearances, goals and assists, with the Arsenal move taking place on 30 August.
He joins Arsenal with previous experience of playing for both Manchester United U18 and Manchester United U21, as well as his loan period at Newport County. His arrival adds a defender with a background in English youth football to Arsenal U21’s squad.
The transfer also marks a new stage in Ogunneye’s development after more than four years within the Manchester United system. He first moved into the club’s under-18 group in 2022, won a youth league title two seasons later and then progressed to the under-21 side.
Ogunneye’s switch from Manchester United U21 to Arsenal U21 was completed on 30 August 2026.
