Guinea’s second-highest scorer Diakité moves to Tunisia

Guinean striker Amadou Diakité has left Wakriya AC of Boké to join Tunisian top-flight club Union Sportive de Ben Guerdane (USBG) on a three-year contract.

The move represents the next stage of Diakité’s career after an impressive campaign in Guinea, where he finished as the second-highest scorer in Ligue 1 Guicopres with 13 goals.

His performances for Wakriya AC attracted interest from clubs in the Maghreb, eventually leading to his move to Tunisia.

Diakité has now officially ended his time in the Guinean championship and will continue his career in the Tunisian first division, where he will face a new challenge in one of Africa’s competitive domestic leagues.

The 13 goals he scored for Wakriya AC were enough to establish him as one of the leading scorers in Guinea’s top flight during the campaign.

His efficiency in front of goal and performances throughout the season helped attract attention from recruiters in North Africa.

The three-year agreement gives the Guinean forward a long-term opportunity to develop his career outside his home country’s league.

For USBG, the signing brings in a striker whose recent record in Guinea demonstrates his ability to consistently find the net.

Diakité’s arrival also marks a significant move for a player who has spent the previous stage of his career in Guinea and will now have the opportunity to test himself in Tunisia.

His performances with Wakriya AC were central to the transfer, with his goalscoring record helping convince recruiters from the Maghreb of his potential.

The striker’s 13 goals made him the second-highest scorer in Ligue 1 Guicopres, providing a strong platform for the move.

After leaving Guinea, Diakité will now begin preparations for his new challenge with USBG.

The three-year contract indicates the Tunisian club’s commitment to the forward and gives him the opportunity to establish himself in the country’s top division over an extended period.

The move is also another example of a Guinean player taking his career beyond the domestic championship after attracting attention through performances at home.

For Diakité, the immediate task will be adapting to his new surroundings and continuing the goalscoring form that earned him the move.

His spell at Wakriya AC ended on a high note after a season in which he became one of the division’s most productive forwards.

The Guinean striker’s performances ultimately opened the door to a move to the Maghreb, where USBG have secured his services until the end of the three-year agreement.

Diakité now has the chance to build on his successful campaign in Guinea and prove himself in Tunisia.
