Greece hold Klopp’s Germany to goalless draw as Burkardt goal is ruled out

Greece and Germany finished level at 0-0 after Jonathan Burkardt’s goal was disallowed, with neither side able to break the deadlock.

Germany had the first notable opportunity after four minutes when Derry Scherhant met a precise pass and saw his shot saved by Greece goalkeeper Tzolakis.

Greece had threatened two minutes earlier, as Masouras rose to meet a lofted cross and directed his header towards goal, but Jonas Urbig made the save for Germany.

Germany began the second half on the front foot. Lennart Karl sent a promising effort wide in the 47th minute before controlling a pass on the edge of the area a minute later and seeing his shot blocked.

Greece responded with a threat of their own in the 51st minute, when Mavropanos headed towards the roof of the net, only for Urbig to deny him.
