Golden Arrows midfielder Siyanda Ndlovu has been nominated for the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Sports Personality of the Year award, underlining his growing reputation following a series of standout performances this season.
The 22-year-old has emerged as one of the most influential players for Golden Arrows, contributing significantly to the club’s attacking play across all competitions. His consistent displays have not only boosted his team’s performances in the Premier Soccer League (PSL), but have also drawn wider recognition at provincial level.
Ndlovu’s form during the campaign has been particularly notable. He was named Betway Premiership Player of the Month for September/October 2025, an accolade that highlighted his impact during that period. In addition, he secured the Goal of the Month award for an individual effort against Stellenbosch FC, further demonstrating his technical ability and confidence on the ball.
The midfielder’s performances have come as part of a productive season in which he has made 25 appearances in all competitions. During that time, he has contributed four goals and seven assists, underlining his importance in both creating and finishing scoring opportunities.
His nomination places him alongside several accomplished athletes from different sporting disciplines. Among those also shortlisted are Zakithi Nene from athletics, cricketer Nonkululeko Mlaba, triathlete Mhlengi Gwala, and netball player Thulisile Maduna. The diversity of the nominees reflects the breadth of sporting talent within the KwaZulu-Natal region.
Golden Arrows head coach Manqoba Mngqithi praised Ndlovu’s achievement, highlighting the significance of the recognition for both the player and the club.
“I want to give him a very big round of applause for being nominated as a KZN Sports Personality of the Year, that is a big award,” he said.
Ndlovu’s rise has been seen as part of a broader trend of emerging young talent within South African football, with clubs increasingly relying on youthful players to drive performance and results. His ability to influence matches, combined with his work rate and creativity, has made him a key figure in Golden Arrows’ approach.
The nomination is expected to further raise his profile, potentially opening up additional opportunities as his career continues to develop. For now, however, the focus remains on maintaining his current level of performance and helping his team achieve success in domestic competitions.
As the awards approach, Ndlovu’s inclusion among the nominees serves as recognition of his progress and impact over the past season, marking an important milestone in his young career.
