Nigeria winger Ibuchi Chukwu has joined Gloria Bistrita from U Cluj on loan, returning to the club as they prepare for life in Romania’s Liga 2.
The 20-year-old left-sided attacker completed the move on 21 August 2026. The loan is scheduled to run until 30 June 2027, when he is due to return to U Cluj.
Chukwu moves after joining U Cluj on a free transfer from Gloria Bistrita on 1 July 2026. His spell with U Cluj included one appearance in Europa League qualifying, where he played eight minutes.
The Port Harcourt-born player previously represented Gloria during the 2024-25 season, joining on loan from Corvinul in January 2025. He returned to Corvinul at the end of that campaign before moving permanently to Gloria on 1 July 2025.
Chukwu was part of the Gloria Bistrita side that won the Romanian Liga 3 title in the 2024-25 season. His return gives the club a familiar attacking option as they continue their progression through the Romanian league system.
He has been listed as a left winger and is predominantly right-footed. At 1.92m, Chukwu adds size to Gloria’s wide attacking options, while his previous time at the club provides an existing connection with the squad and environment.
His move back to Gloria comes after a brief start to the 2026-27 campaign at U Cluj. He did not feature in the SuperLiga, UEFA Conference League qualifying or Romanian Supercup, but did make a substitute appearance in the Europa League qualifying campaign.
Chukwu began his senior career with Jimmy FA before joining Corvinul on a free transfer in July 2024. His first spell at Gloria followed six months later, and he returned to the club permanently in the summer of 2025 before switching to U Cluj a year later.
The transfer takes Chukwu from a club competing in Romania’s top flight to Gloria Bistrita, who are listed in Liga 2. His current market value is €100,000.
Gloria Bistrita have re-signed Ibuchi Chukwu from U Cluj on loan until 30 June 2027.
