Glody Lilepo: DR Congo winger at Kaizer Chiefs linked with Wydad AC move

DR Congo winger Glody Lilepo, currently on the books of Kaizer Chiefs, is being linked with a move to Moroccan giants Wydad AC as the Botola Pro Inwi side explore attacking reinforcements.

The 28-year-old right winger, who plays in South Africa’s Betway Premiership, is under contract at Chiefs until 30 June 2027, meaning any deal would require Wydad to negotiate a transfer fee rather than wait for a free move. Lilepo is understood to be viewed as a potential wide option for the Casablanca club as they assess ways to add pace and depth in the final third.

Lilepo’s valuation is currently in the region of €700,000, a figure that offers a reference point for any discussions over a possible switch between the South African and Moroccan clubs. His contractual security at Naturena places Kaizer Chiefs in a strong position should formal talks develop.

The DR Congo international has been operating primarily from the right flank for Chiefs, offering width in the Betway Premiership and experience at continental level. His age profile and established role in a leading South African side make him a relatively rare, ready-made option for a North African club looking to strengthen immediately.

No agreement is believed to be in place at this stage, and the situation remains at the level of interest rather than advanced negotiations. With Lilepo tied down at Kaizer Chiefs for at least another season beyond the current campaign, the onus will be on Wydad AC to decide whether to firm up their admiration with a bid that can tempt the Soweto club to the table.
