Galatasaray open talks for Stuttgart midfielder Bilal El Khannouss

Galatasaray have opened discussions over a potential move for Stuttgart midfielder Bilal El Khannouss, with the Morocco international regarded as one of their main targets during the summer transfer window.

According to Turkish journalist Ertan Suzgun, the Turkish champions have made initial contact as they explore the possibility of signing the 22-year-old. Galatasaray have taken a first step in their pursuit, although the transfer is expected to be difficult because of the player’s release clause and interest from clubs in England.

El Khannouss has attracted attention across Europe through his technical ability, vision and influence in midfield. His performances have made him one of the most sought-after players in this summer’s market, and Stuttgart could face increasing pressure from clubs looking to secure his signature.

The financial terms are likely to be central to any negotiations. Africafoot reports that El Khannouss has a release clause estimated at between 50m and 60m euros. That figure represents a significant commitment for Galatasaray and could make an agreement with Stuttgart more complicated.

Despite the size of the clause, Galatasaray appear determined to investigate every possible route to a deal. Their decision to begin discussions indicates that the club are prepared to pursue the midfielder, even though the financial demands could prove challenging.

The Turkish side will also have to contend with competition from the Premier League. Several English clubs are monitoring El Khannouss’ situation closely, raising the possibility of a bidding contest if more than one of those clubs decides to make a formal approach.

That interest could make the deal increasingly difficult for Galatasaray. The involvement of Premier League teams may drive up the level of competition and put additional pressure on the Turkish champions to find a way to meet Stuttgart’s demands.

El Khannouss’ future is therefore expected to become a major focus in the coming weeks. Galatasaray have made contact and identified him as a priority, but the release clause and interest from England mean that the club’s pursuit is only at an early stage.

For now, Stuttgart’s midfielder remains one of the most coveted names in the summer transfer window. Galatasaray’s interest has become clear, but they are not alone in the race, and the combination of his valuation and the attention from Premier League clubs could determine whether the move develops beyond the opening discussions.
