Moroccan-Belgian midfielder Bilal El Khannouss is the subject of a reported move from Stuttgart to Leeds, with the Premier League club monitoring the 22-year-old attacking midfielder.
El Khannouss is under contract with Stuttgart until 30 June 2030, having completed a permanent return to the Bundesliga club on 1 July after Leicester paid €15m for him. He had spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Stuttgart, following his move from Genk to Leicester for €22.5m in August 2024.
The midfielder has featured in all six of Morocco’s matches at the 2026 World Cup, starting every game and playing 82% of the available minutes. He has not scored or assisted in the tournament.
At club level, El Khannouss made 25 Bundesliga appearances for Stuttgart, scoring four goals and providing five assists. His recorded market value is €35m, placing the potential move in a substantially higher bracket than the fee Stuttgart paid to bring him back from Leicester.
El Khannouss was part of Morocco’s Africa Cup of Nations-winning team in 2025, adding to the international context around a player who can also represent Belgium.
There has been no confirmation that Leeds have made a formal offer, and El Khannouss remains a Stuttgart player with four years remaining on his contract.
