Galatasaray monitoring Algeria’s Ibrahim Maza ahead of summer window

Turkish champions Galatasaray SK are reportedly keeping a close eye on Algerian international Ibrahim Maza as they prepare to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

The highly-rated attacking midfielder has attracted growing attention across Europe following his rapid development, with Galatasaray emerging as one of the latest clubs to express interest in his services.

According to Turkish journalist Ferhat Kiziltas, speaking on TV100 Spor, the Istanbul giants have been impressed by Maza’s technical quality, creativity and long-term potential. The 19-year-old is said to feature on a shortlist of players being considered by head coach Okan Buruk as the club assesses options to reinforce its attacking department.

Galatasaray are understood to view Maza as a player capable of making an immediate impact while also fitting their strategy of investing in young talents with significant resale value.

The Turkish champions are currently evaluating several targets and could intensify their interest in the Algerian should moves for some of their primary options fail to materialise.

However, any attempt to secure Maza’s signature is likely to prove complicated.

The midfielder only joined Bayer 04 Leverkusen last year and is regarded as one of the Bundesliga club’s brightest young prospects. Leverkusen are reportedly keen to continue his development and have shown little indication that they are willing to part ways with the player.

Competition could also pose a challenge for Galatasaray, with several clubs across Europe continuing to monitor Maza’s progress following a series of impressive performances at both club and international level.

Despite the growing speculation, no official negotiations or formal offer have been reported at this stage.

For now, Galatasaray’s interest remains at the monitoring stage, but Maza’s future is expected to be one of the stories to watch as the summer transfer window gathers momentum.

The Algerian midfielder’s stock continues to rise, and any decision regarding his future is likely to attract significant attention from clubs across the continent.
